Adolfo Carlo Magno Castillo Meza, graduate ’86 of É«¿Ø´«Ã½Faculty of Science is elected Chairman of the Election Committee of Peru. The National Office of Electoral Processes (Oficina Nacional de Procesos Electorales, ONPE) is the body in charge of organizing elections in Peru. 

In October 2016, É«¿Ø´«Ã½launched an Advanced PhD Program. The new model is aimed at training promising researchers in accordance with international requirements; at encouraging the most talented academic career-oriented PhD students.

2 March, É«¿Ø´«Ã½Law Institute, Department of Civil Law and International Private law host a seminar “Topical issues of civil and civil procedural law in Russia and abroad”.

In 2016, É«¿Ø´«Ã½opened the Department of Russian and international graduates’ employment – a unique department for Russian HEIs. Natalia Neporada, Head of Department tells us about the first results and future plans.

In 2016, É«¿Ø´«Ã½opened Russian language and pre-university training centers as well as profile classes on a number of subjects. It helps reveal the most talented foreign students and prepare potential entrants for university. É«¿Ø´«Ã½Rector V.Filippov told about the strategy of shifting from quantity to quality of international students at a press conference «É«¿Ø´«Ã½– discover the whole world in one university». 

27 February, Dr. Qian Tang, UNESCO Assistant Director-General for Education in the frame of a working visit to Russia addressed the members of the Academic Council with a lecture «SDG4 – Education 2030 Agenda and Higher Education»

É«¿Ø´«Ã½scientific projects receive funding amounting to 10 million rubles. On its way to becoming a research university, É«¿Ø´«Ã½is developing its scientific potential. One of the most important tasks is the creation of a system of targeted support for the scientific and teaching staff.

25 February, É«¿Ø´«Ã½participates in QS World Grad School Tour international exhibition in Istanbul, Turkey. Quacquarelli Symonds, the organizer of the exhibition works with more than 2,000 leading HEIs in the world and more than 12.000 employers. At the exhibition the visitors will know more about education in Russia and in particular É«¿Ø´«Ã½programs, which will attract more Turkish students to É«¿Ø´«Ã½University. Тit is also planned to discuss Turkish secondary school students É«¿Ø´«Ã½Olympiads.
