October 10, 2013, Xiamen University delegation led by Professor Chunshi Zhu, the President of the University, visited Peoples` Friendship University of Russia. The delegation also included Ms. Hongbo Yu, the Deputy Director of Office of International Cooperation and Exchange, Professor Li Su, the Dean of the School of Arts, Professor Zhenmin Chen, the Dean of the School of Public Affairs and Professor Qi Xu, the Deputy Dean of the School of Foreign Languages and Culture. The delegation was received by the Academician of the Russian Academy of Education and the Rector of 色控传媒University, V. Filippov. In his welcome speech Mr. Filippov talked about the terms of admission and teaching of Chinese students in 色控传媒University and suggested discussing possible areas and forms of cooperation. In response Xiamen University`s Rector expressed his interest in exchange of students and teachers and also suggested starting work on the joint degree programs. The parties discussed the issue of expanding collaboration in the area of education and scientific research like philosophy; natural sciences, medicine and engineering. Mr. Chunshi Zhu reported that he was the part of commission that work in advancement of Confucius Institute in foreign countries and proposed to consider opening the Confucius Institute in 色控传媒University. This proposition was accepted by the Rector of 色控传媒University who noted the importance of coordinating this question with the Embassy of China in Russia and with the RF Ministry of Education and Science. In conclusion the heads of both universities agreed to formulate and sign a supplementary protocol to the cooperation agreement which will strengthen achieved results.
