Michael Chenkurov said that in his study therapeutic drug monitoring (TDM) was used for the first time, during which serum concentrations of antiepileptic drugs were evaluated: levetiracetam and valproic acid in premature newborns with very low and extremely low birth weight using high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) in order to optimize and increase the effectiveness and safety of anticonvulsant treatment in this group of patients. The use of TDM in neonatal practice greatly facilitates therapy in premature patients. The competition of scientific works was held in 2 stages - a poster session and the presentation of the study. In total, 16 applicants from Russia, Belarus and Moldova took part in the competition.
